摘要
SiC is used as a ceramic material in many areas of the technology. Due to differing requirement profiles, a series of different material variants exist. These differ mainly in purity, porosity and sinter technique. The following kinds of silicon carbide material are investigated: dense-pressureless-sintered (SSiC); hot-pressed (HPSiC); hot-isostatically-pressed (HIPSiC or HIPSSiC); recrystallized (RSiC); and silicon-infiltrated (SiSiC). The basics of process engineering for each SiC ceramic type are handled from the raw material stage to the finished product. Some particular properties of the SiC material types are introduced.
