摘要
In recent months, several programs for handheld programmable calculators have been published that will calculate pressure drops in natural-gas piping systems. These programs give quick, accurate results from widely accepted equations without laborious calculations. Each of these equations incorporates five common variables. The programs generally require that flow rate, internal diameter, length and an upstream pressure be input. The output then gives a downstream pressure based on the particular equation. The program presented is similar to those mentioned in that it will solve this type of pressure-drop problem. It is different in that it will also solve for any one of the other four variables when the remaining four variables are given as input. The program offers quick and simple input, essential when doing successive calculations in a piping system, as well as in design and rating capabilities.
