Experimental data on flow inlet zones and on developed laminar, viscous flow in rectangular ducts with sharp-edged and smooth inlets are presented. Good agreement between measured velocity profiles and theoretical predictions was obtained in the case of the developed laminar flow. The experimental setup and measuring instrumentation are described.
