摘要
This paper presents the modeling, analysis, design, and implementation of current source inverter-fed induction motor drives. Dynamics of the induction motor drive are represented by coupled, nonlinear differential equations. Based on the nonlinear dynamics, the method of field-oriented control is applied to deriving digital speed control algorithms. The approach is suitable for microprocessor-based implementation. An induction motor drive prototype is constructed with a 16-bit microprocessor serving as the controller. Preliminary test results indicate that the field-oriented control yields better performance than the conventional slip control approach. Computer simulation is also conducted to correlate with the experimental results, where good correlation is obtained. Methods of improving the prototype drive system are suggested. The paper provides both theoretical and practical design techniques for implementing high performance current source inverter-fed induction motor drives.
