Specific Features of Manufacture of Internal Vessel Equipment of VVER-440 Reactors.

Internal vessel equipment of the VVER-440 reactor consist of a shaft suspended on the vessel flange, the shaft bottom, the cage placed within the shaft, and a protective tube unit mounted on the cage with an active zone. The main elements of structures are: courses, plates, sheets and tubes joined together by welding. Specific features include: thin walls of the courses, a great amount of welding, complex configuration of the surfaces. The experience of manufacture is described.
