摘要
The relative merits of wheel and rail profiling and lubrication to control or reduce side wear and energy consumption are examined. On systems with shallow curves lubrication alone may be adequate to maximise energy savings. The need to combine profiling with lubrication, in order to maximise both energy savings and wheel life, increases when sharper curves are present.
