摘要：
The distributed database system VDN (a German acronym for distributed database system Nixdorf) is currently under development. Its main goals are to provide an easy to use, comfortable relational database system which is able to administer data stored on different nodes of a computer network. A description is given of VDN objects, VDN functions, and data distribution in VDN.
