In this paper, the least squares identification technique involving pseudo-random binary signal injection is applied to hydroturbine systems. It is shown that the entire process of signal generation, injection, response measurement and recursive algorithm of parametr estimation can be performed in real time using a dedicated microprocessor system. The technique was tested on a laboratory electronic analog model and a field hydroturbine generating set. The results are of good accuracy.
