The program method outlined here can be effective method of ensuring that all aspects of the selection process have been addressed. Establishing a project team is the first essential step in the selection process. The team should comprise representatives from all affected operating and support departments. The other steps include: defining requirements; requesting proposals; initial review; second review; giving an overview of the company and software; site visits/user groups; making a choice; negotiating a contract.
