摘要
A description of an hierarchical multilevel optimization technique incorporating conventional dynamic programming is presented. It has been used to evaluate optimum timing of headworks augmentation. The technique has enabled a complex system to be successfully modelled over a 30 year planning horizon including the sub-system interactions necessary for determining augmentation location, security criteria and multipurpose relationships.
