Designing sailing yacht hulls represents a complex problem in solid geometry that requires considerable skill and time when using graphical techniques. The labor can be greatly reduced when small digital computers coupled with mathematical procedures are applied. Additional benefits in reduced lofting costs result from the use of these procedures. These procedures are adaptable to small computers and can be of benefit to the designer at a reasonable cost.
