PROPERTIES OF BIMETAL TOOLS PRODUCED BY THE ELECTRIC RESISTANCE DEPOSITION OF A HIGH-SPEED TOOL STEEL ON A STRUCTURAL STEEL.

摘要
The manufacture of bimetal cutting tools is one of the efficient ways of saving expensive tungsten-containing materials. This article describes a newly developed method of the manufacture of various types of bimetal tools by means of electric resistance deposition of a tool steel on the surface of a blank made of structural steel. The test results show that the strength of bonding of the high-speed tool steel to the substrate of the structural steel is equal to 55-60kgf/mm**2.
