摘要
When a mine or part of a mine is on fire or when there is spontaneous heating, sometimes it becomes necessary to seal the mine. Liberation of CH//4 and formation of CO and H//2 in the sealed area along with the development of volatiles due to partial distillation of coal pose a potential explosion hazard. Before recovering a sealed area it is essential to know the status of heating and the explosibility of mine gases behind stoping. Several methods for assessing the explosibility of sealed atmospheres in mines are detailed.
