A method of separating the polarizing power of neutron polarizers from the depolarization in a set-up composed of three neutron polarizers, the so-called 'three polarizer two shim method', is described. It appears that, using this method, the net polarizing power of the second polarizer, i.e. without any depolarization effects between the polarizers, can be determined. Also the application to magnetic Bragg scattering experiments is discussed.
