Computer-integrated manufacturing (CIM) in precast plants

The possible rationalization potentials as well as the objectives aimed at are presented and quantified on the basis of the introduction of the components contained in CIM in precast plants. A description is also given of implementation concepts with decision criteria and introductory strategies. Finally, partial approaches to solutions and solutions derived from practice are also presented. The CIM strategy as a compoent of an overall strategic entrepreneurial solution opens the possibility of employing information processing as a strategic production factor in order to control the entire manufacturing process with computers, to support human intelligence and creativity by means of integrated information processing and to include the use of expert systems in the circle of integration.
