摘要
A system employing transform coding algorithms for the redundancy reduction of TV signals is described that allows the digital transmission of frozen pictures at low speed on a telephone line or a digital carrier according to two possible methods: the refreshing period of the frozen images is set up by the user according to a desired quality; the quality of the received image can be continuously improved by the user by taking a longer transmission time. The system is controlled by a microcomputer with mass storage allowing recording and retrieval of transmitted/received pictures.
