Industries must now minimize or reduce their municipal water usage and wastewater discharges. These economies are being mandated by higher water and sewage charges as the result of rapidly increasing costs and newly imposed Federal regulations. Many methods are available for solving the problem. However, each facility is an individual case with specific resources and conditions which will govern the solution. A logical step-by-step engineering analysis is the best way to proceed in dealing with the problem. The paper outlines pertinent solutions to the problem and describes a case history study.
