摘要
The steady state stability and time domain response of a generator with an optimal excitation control are investigated. Linear optimal regulator theory, with a quadratic performance index is applied in conjunction with point by point linearization of this essentially non-linear system. The resulting multi-variable optimal control requires the gains to be varied from operating point to operating point. However a fixed-gain sub-optimal regulator with useful properties is indicated. A method of predetermining the degree of stability is established.
