Closures

Some recent events related to the production and use of closures are presented. The legislated safety is briefly discussed. The Poison Prevention Packaging Act mandates safety closures for all prescription drugs and for a variety of over- the- counter drugs and household products. Passage of this legislation has hustled a bevy of new child- resistant closures to market. Some technological advances in the desig and production of plastic closures and protection are dealt with. Several new entries in this field are mentioned.
