摘要
Performance measures, namely the quality-factor, the bandwidth and the balancing factor, are introduced which can be used to demonstrate and compare the quality of terminal oriented multi-processor systems. The quality-factor relates the system in-time of a job to the processor utilization and thus characterizes the economic use of a system, whereas the bandwidth defines the range of the effectiveness of a system under variation of the workload. The balancing factor is a measure to describe the optima! configuration of a system. The properties of these measures are shown with the help of a queuing network model of a simple multi-processor system. © 1974 De Gruyter Oldenbourg. All rights reserved.
