摘要
The fatigue properties of standard grade Ti-6Al-4V powder metallurgy products were evaluated. Prealloyed Ti-6Al-4V powder was made by (a) the rotating electrode process (REP) and (b) the plasma rotating electrode process (PREP). The powder produced from the REP was compacted into various shapes by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) powder in ceramic molds. The powder produced from the PREP was consolidated into round bars in steel cans by HIP and rapid omnidirectional compaction (ROC). A hot rolled plate of standard grade Ti-6Al-4V annealled to the same strength level as the PREP PM bars was evaluated as an ingot metallurgy baseline for comparison. Both strain-controlled and load-controlled fatigue tests were run.
