摘要
A 16-bit microprocessor chip is described that can be adapted by means of hardware implementaion of virtual-memory management and protection to sophisticated multiuser, multitasking applications. In order to run a reprogrammable, multiuser, multitasking system, this 16-bit microprocessor needs higher throughput than it does for a single-task, single-user setup. It also needs to protect its operating-system software against its users and its users against each other.
