摘要：
The burning sulphide ores in the mine generate SO//2 gases. A description of the environmental impact of SO//2 on air quality in the mine and on the surface in the vicinity of the mine is provided. As a result of surface caving SO//2 has been able to vent to surface and winds have carried it into one residential area of Kimberley. Monitoring practices are described, and policy measures have been taken.
