VENEZUELA'S GAS NETWORK.

Venezuela intends to substitute natural gas for more than 370,000 bbl of oil by a regular and trustworthy supply of more than 2 Bcfd within a 15-year period. The ambitious Nur-gas project is the axis for gas supply to the country's north central coast region, where the larger cities and most industrial facilities are located. The 30- to 36-in. pipeline will have a daily transmission capacity of 950 Mmcfd, enough to satisfy the needs of the region through the rest of the century. Thanks to the pipeline, gas supply for the cities of northern Venezuela is being considerably expanded. Another important development is the La Encrucijada-San Sebastian pipeline, which will provide natural gas to industries and towns.
