SOME REMARKS ON THE PROBLEM OF MINERAL LIBERATION.

In order to formulate the problem of the evaluation of mineral liberation occurring during the comminution of rocks, a particle population of a narrow class of the comminution product of a two-component rock has been considered. It has been assumed that the particles of the population are convex and congruent. They may be the liberated particles of any of the components as well as mixed ones, in which the contact surface of the components is a fragment of a plane. An algebraic-integral system of equations has been derived to determine the relative number of particles of each of the three types and the distribution function for the volume fraction of one of the components in mixed particles. The system of equations includes quantities determinable by stereological analysis as well as functions being determinable analytically.
