摘要
In Egypt, the use of zinc sulfate as a fertilizer for rice is continuously increasing. However, all the quantities used are imported. Zinc wastes are produced in factories coating steel pipe or sheets with zinc. In the present work, two processes for production of commercial and pure zinc processes for production of commercial and pure zinc sulfate from one type of wastes (zinc dross) were developed. This include the choice of suitable equipment based on study of the reaction kinetics as well as calculation of material and heat balances. The study of reaction kinetics included investigation of the reaction rate, effect of temperature, effect of per cent excess dross added, method of purification and conditions of crystallization and separation. Techno-economical studies showed that the processes are feasible.
