摘要：
This article discusses the basic principles of IR techniques, the recent developments in the field, and its application in studying the environmental degradation of polymers. Instrumentation and Sampling Techniques described include: Dispersive infrared spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometer, and transmission and reflectance spectroscopy. Polymer degradation by its reaction with oxygen, with or without heat, is discussed.
