摘要
This paper describes the design and performance of optical subscriber cables consisting of a five-fiber or ten-fiber unit. Various kinds of cables containing up to 100 fibers in total were manufactured and tested in a field trial. The cables demonstrated good temperature and mechanical characteristics and optical losses were very stable during installation and in a severe aerial environment. The results confirm that these cables are suitable for practical use in duct and aerial applications.
