TURBINES WITH COUNTER-ROTATING ROTORS FOR AIRCRAFT POWERPLANTS.

We present a classification of turbines with counter-rotating rotors and the region of their application in aircraft powerplants used for differing purposes. We note the basic gasdynamic characteristics of the turbines of the traditional scheme (with fixed stator) and of a nontraditional scheme - birotative turbines. For the birotative turbines we obtain the characteristic kinematic relations and propose a relation determining the gasdynamic loading parameter and a technique for determining the work distribution between the turbine cascades.
