摘要：
Biological processing of coal is an attractive alternative for treating coal and enhances its value as a fuel. Recent achievements in lignin degradation and desulfurization of some coals may be the key to future commercial processes. Houston Lighting and Power has designed a biological processing plant that converts surface-mined Texas lignite into a gaseous product and a liquid fuel.
