WIND LOADING AND WIND EFFECTS.

This chapter identifies design problems due to wind loading and wind effects on tall buildings and some criteria. Meteorological factors and characteristics of turbulent flow important to the design are discussed, along with relevant probabilistic techniques used. The mechanism of wind loading along with examples are given before detailing analytical and modeling approaches for the estimation of loads and response. Finally, the methods used to integrate load/response with wind data on a probabilistic basis are summarized. Refs.
