摘要
Mars Polar lander, launched on January 3, 1999, arrived at Mars on December 3, 1999. This paper concentrates on the navigation analysis required to meet the arrival criteria necessary to land at the desired landing site (195° west longitude by 76° south latitude) and simultaneously deliver two microprobes to Mars entry conditions. Results are presented for approach navigation using near-simultaneous tracking data collected from both Mars Polar Lander and Mars Global Surveyor and using tracking data from Mars Polar Lander only.
