摘要：
In order to span the period preceding the introduction of the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) the Deutsche Bundespost (German Federal Post Office) plans to set in operation a circuit-switched 64-kbit/s network in its Integrated Text and Data Network (IDN) in the latter part of 1983. Thus it will be possible to provide and try out 64-kbit/s service offerings before the ISDN is established. The article gives the overview of the architecture of the 64-kbit/s switched network within the IDN.
