摘要
There is interest in the paint and varnish industry in using as a solvent the atmospheric distillate obtained in the production of Piroplast-2. This distillate is analogous to petroleum solvent in hydrocarbon composition but is less toxic (contains considerably less styrene and dicyclopentadiene) and is more stable. On the basis of the tests and experience in using the atmospheric distillate in plant and varnish production, requirements were defined for this material as an improved-quality solvent. The 190-35-°C vacuum distillate obtained in the production of Piroplast-2 is a mixture of copolymers of unsaturated hydrocarbons. With the heat of combustion practically identical to that of Grade 40 boiler fuel, has a lower viscosity, so that it can be used without any additional heating.
