A method is proposed for reducing the problem of the stressed state in a closed shell with a crack to the solution of a system of integral equations compiled for the case when the crack is situated along the generatrix. The integral equation for an infinite plate with a system of parallel, periodically situated cracks is investigated in detail. The solution of the equation is constructed in the form of decomposition by the parameter lambda equals th ( pi a/2l), where l equals half-distance between the cracks, a equals their half-length. A numerical analysis of the critical load is carried out.
