摘要
The worldwide intensive effort of the copper industry to improve traditional soldered copper/brass radiator resulted in the development of advanced copper/brass radiators which are 30-40% lighter the copper and brass radiators currently available. Three new production technologies - electrophoretic coating, no-flux brazing and laser welding-allow manufacturers to make these high-quality copper/brass radiators with material and manufacturing costs equal to or better than aluminum. By using much thinner material for fins and tubes, brazing and laser welding gave the new radiator an exceptional competitiveness in weight and size. In addition to strengthening effect of brazing, electrophoretic coating strengthens the radiator further by providing maximum corrosion in every nook and cranny of the core with negligible effect on overall weight and heat transfer.
