摘要
Experiments reveal intense oscillations in the plasma of a low-voltage arc at high discharge current densities, near the critical value. The oscillations which appear at high currents have an important influence on the effective plasma conductivity, causing it to become much higher than the collisional value. An investigation shows that the current distribution and the effect of the magnetic field on the discharge properties in high-current, three-electrode Cs-Ba devices can be described with a region of negative differential conductivity on the voltage-current characteristics.
