Orthodox methods used in mining aerology for determining the natural ventilation pressure in meshes of the mine ventilation network are discussed. The particular methods are compared on the basis of measurements carried out in eight coal and ore mines. It was found that sufficient accuracy may be obtained by the simplest aerostatistic method. A new method for determining the role of natural factors in the air flow for the mesh of a mine ventilation network was presented, and the results of the calculations were compared with the orthodox method for determining the natural ventilation pressure. Based on comprehensive experimental data, the relation of the natural ventilation pressure to the temperature of the atmospheric air is shown.
