摘要
The possibility of cutting tool monitoring is a decisive prerequisite for further automation of manufacturing processes. Special sensor bearings can be used for covering measured values proportional to the components of metal cutting forces. They enable detection of tool wear and breakage, cutting edge chipping, and initiation of cutting problems, even in small tools. The signals can be utilized for machine shutdown.
