摘要
A small 500 kV loop network has been simulated, with help of RTDS to test travelling wave based fault location devices for transmission lines. Performances of the devices are tested through different characteristic faults on the transmission lines, and whose errors are analyzed with high-precision measuring instruments. Based on analysis of errors, this paper further studies the calculating step and D/A converting time of RTDS and then proposes a compensation algorithm for improving wave-precision of RTDS. Satisfactory simulation results have been obtained when the input data are compensated, which shows that it is a better way to test the device by use of RTDS.
