摘要
Although the frequency of fires in tall buildings has been historically small, their severity in terms of both life loss and property damage has been large and is likely to continue to be. Recognizing that there are limitations precluding absolute control of fire loading and compartmentation, this article evaluates the problems that may arise when a fire occurs and the means of minimizing these problems through use of protective design measures.
