Based on the method of separation of pulsating noise, the author evaluates the effect of broadband parasitic amplitude modulation in the channel of magnetic recording-reproduction on two aspects of frequency detectors. It is shown that the tracking frequency detector at 56 db is less sensitive than an integrating pulse detector.
