The basic technology of the plaster mold process in producing precision aluminum or zinc castings at minimum cost is outlined, with emphasis on how this expendable mold process helps the die caster satisfy his customer. It is shown that the plaster mold process shares the advantages of short lead time and low tooling costs with sand casting, plus the precision and repeatability of die casting. There are virtually no limitations as to what part sizes and configurations can be cast in plaster molds.
