摘要：
The more toward increasing use of interactive, knowledge-based CAD/CAM systems for steel construction and detailing is shown, and reasons for these trends are given. A basic case demonstrates the functionality and use of a system for steel detailing, producting the various types of technical drawings, parts lists, and data for controlling NC machines. The widespread range of application is shown by examples of day-to-day use by steel fabricators and engineering consultants in Europe.
