An expression for evaluating the theoretical relationship of hardness of isotropic glasses to their continuous polymeric framework structure is proposed. A review is presented of the compositions and conditions where symbatic linear dependences between the microhardness, softening temperature, and average enthalpy of atomization are fulfilled. Analytical expressions for the empirical dependences of the 'microhardness (softening temperature) - average enthalpy of atomization' of chalcogenide glasses of several systems have been obtained and explained.
