摘要
The present investigation deals with the structural geology and tectonics of the Central and Southern Appalachian Valley and Ridge and Plateau Provinces, West Virginia and Virginia. Structural analysis was based primarily on a composite geologic map compiled from various sources. The geologic map, information from potential field geophysics, deep-well data, and regional as well as local reflection seismic profiles were used to analyze structural styles and to construct structural cross sections from the surface to the Precambrian basement.
