摘要
The conditions under which naphthas from coal can be converted to methane by hydrogenolysis were investigated. Hexane was selected as the test hydrocarbon, and Co, Ni and Ru with varying metal contents and on various supports as catalysts. Selectivities and activities were determined and are discussed. The effects of poisoning of the catalysts by thiophene in a fixed-bed flow reactor are also reported. The best catalyst for the transformation of naphthas into methane appears to be the cobalt-on-silica type with a high metal content, reduced at a high temperature.
