An electric drive for the control of fittings, based on planetary-gear transmission, has been designed and introduced into serial production. The drive consists of the electric motor, the gear transmission, the planetary-gear transmission including the screw (the spindle of the fitting), arranged eccentrically with respect to the threaded bushing 9, and the upper 4 and the lower supports of the screw. The threaded bushing with the bearings is located in the beaker. In order to limit the axial stress the elastic elements are used which are connected to the microswitch 1 through a system of levers. The rotation is transmitted from the electric motor through a gear system, the beaker, and the bearings to the threaded bushing; the latter rotates with respect to the spindle of the fitting and puts it into forward motion. Unlike the existing driving mechanism, the drives with a planetary-gear mechanism have a mass and size which is smaller by a factor of 2-3 (with respect to a power unit); they also offer a higher efficiency, require much less metal, and are less complicated to manufacture and are simple to use.
