DESIGN OF VERTICAL PILE GROUP SUBJECTED TO LATERAL LOAD, VERTICAL LOAD AND MOMENT

摘要
A method is outlined for the design of pile group subjected to vertical load, lateral load and moment utilizing Winkler's hypothesis. Graphs presented can be directly utilized to calculate the maximum bending moments of piles and deflection of pile head for cases of coefficient of horizontal subgrade reaction being constant with depth (for cohesive soils) as well as for linear variation with depth (for cohesionless soils). An illustrative example is worked out.
