摘要
The tools of process analysis are: data taken from the process, mathematical or statistical models, interpretation of results, and management action to implement recommendations. These principles are explained through several examples drawn from actual operating problems in the paper industry. The first two examples consider the case of basis weight variations in paper webs. The third example treats the problem of caliper variation in a continuous sheet forming process. The final example is based on a study of nonuniform cutoff lengths in the manufacture of multiple-ply bags.
